That's amazing that there were hundreds of fans, indeed while the USMNT was playing a game that arguably was critical to save Coach Greg B.'s job! DId the fans have to purchase tickets to attend either game (and how much were tickets)?
They did have a promotion tied to local youth program soccer coaches getting in free (and a promo for teachers at the first game), and then adult tickets are $12, and kid's tickets are $10. Hitchcock teams have a solid track record of engaging fans and building attendance. Definitely a good showing for the second-ever home game, on a Wed.
Thanks! But I'm confused about the mention of Hitchcock --all his teams are NPSL, whereas Legion 2 is USL League One? Do Legion 2 also charge admission?
Hitchcock has a well-oiled back office machine that runs all his many NPSL teams' websites, social media accounts, and merch sales. He should arguably also be running NISA!!
The update covered two games. The first part was the Legion 2 game away at East Atlanta.
The second part was for Hitchcock's Columbus United NPSL team (that had the promotion for yth coaches, and had a good turnout).
I think that Hitchcock has figured out a winning formula. NPSL had limited travel, and his teams draw well, and presumably sell some merch. So, they're probably profitable and sustainable ventures.
