Legion eliminated from playoffs
Birmingham Legion took a tough 2-3 loss at Indy Eleven, officially knocking them out of the playoff picture. This is the first in team history that they won't play in the post-season. Indy got the lead early on an unfortunate own goal by the Legion team captain. Indy struck for a second goal before Legion could regain their composure. Birmingham never gave up, but also blew some great chances to get some goals. In the end, they just didn't have what they needed to knock of Indy, who are in the driver's seat for a home playoff spot. Another disappointing loss, and calls are growing for a coaching change. With all of the injuries I feel that's harsh, but not unexpected when you're sitting eleventh out of twelve Eastern teams (the twelfth being Miami FC).
FC Birmingham lost a close match to GA Revolution, at home. The Revs are one of the top teams in the division, and FCB managed to hold them to two goals, but couldn't break through the Revolution defense. FCB loses 0-2.
FCB2 took a hard loss on Sat to second place Atlanta Ignite. Ignite added to their impressive goal differential by beating FCB2 4-0.

Fountain City got an important win over Albion Atlanta 4-2. Shytle got two goals in the game, doubling his output for the Fall season.
FC Columbus Elite moved back up into the top of the table with a win against Atlanta City FC 2. The 3-0 result was about what should be expected against the bottom team in the division.
Columbus Knight Eagles passed a test in a 0-0 draw against Limeno. Limeno is one spot above CKE, and has been a strong club. The draw shows that CKE is really settling into the league, and can be a contender.
Other news and tidbits
The NISA championship game was Saturday night, featuring LA Force against Irvine Zeta. The game ended tied up at 1-1 and was decided in a shootout. Golden Glove winner Seth Torman made two big saves during the shootout to help give the Force their first league championship.
