USL2
Dothan United took care of business against Athens United on Saturday evening. They put up a comfortable 4-0 win in front of about 4000 fans. The score was 3-0 at halftime, and the Dragons cruised through the second half without really being threatened. There was also a draw involving the top two teams in the division, and the Dragons still believe they have a mathematical chance to make the USL2 playoffs.
GCPL
Alabama FC South came into Saturday's game with their destiny in their control: a win would guarantee second place in the GCPL East, giving them a playoff game at home next week. Pensacola Bay United had been a tough opponent for everyone all season, and these two teams played to a 1-1 draw the first game of the season. ALFCS took control early and had a 3-0 lead at halftime. In the second half they blew the game wide open, and won 9-1. Total domination. Gabriel Dias scored four goals. Eight different players participated in the scoring (assist or goal).
The Adjacency
Columbus United hosted Tallahassee SC for their first-ever playoff game. Tallahassee scored first, and the game featured hard-fought back and forth play. Regulation ended in a 2-2 draw, and went to overtime. Everything was shaping up for a shootout, but Columbus was awarded a penalty in the box in the 120th minute. They buried the kick in the back of the net, delivering a crushing blow, 3-2.
