Birmingham Legion at Rhode Island FC Sat Aug 31 at 6:30
This is a game that Birmingham is likely to find a way to win. While some of the same drama is in place, as far as former Legion players and coach with Rhode Island now, this game flips the script. Birmingham has played much better on the road than at home, and will be looking to avenge the loss to Rhode Island from mid-July. RI has had an insanely high 13 draws this season, including three out of the past five games. They sit just one point behind Legion in the standings, so the stakes are very high. I look for Birmingham to sneak out a win, in a close game.
Huntsville City at Orlando City II Sun Sept 1 at 6:00
HV has won three games in a row under their new head coach. Orlando will be coming off of a road trip to New York on Wed, where they were clobbered 5-2 by NYCFC2. Look for Huntsville to build on their momentum, and pull off a win.
UPSL
FC Birmingham at Kalonji Pro-Profile Sunday Sept 1 at 7:00. KPP was one of the top teams in the division for Spring. FCB will have their work cut out for them on the road against a team that has historically had a strong defense. The other odd factor is that FCB was a much better road team during the Spring, with only one loss from six games. By contrast, at home they won one and lost five, with no draws.
The Adjacency
Fountain City has moved up to the UPSL Premier division, and has their first Fall game on the road at North Georgia United Sat Aug 31 at 6:00. North GA was in the Premier divsion during the Spring, and finished at the bottom of the table. They gave up a ton of goals (49), and will be facing a Fountain City squad that scored a ton of goals (36). Look for Fountain City to dominate.

Hey! How many of the Legion away games do you get to go to? You could arrange a meet-up for the readers of this blog! p.s. RIFC is known alternatively as "Goals Island FC', or "Draw Island FC", so be forwarned!
