Legion is riding positive vibes; Dothan faces their ultimate test of the season

Birmingham will be at home on Saturday June 21 at 7:00 against Oakland Roots. It's the second home game in a row, and the second opponent in a row from the West. They'll be looking to take the energy from their last-second win on Wednesday night, and ride it into this next match. A poor start to the season saw the Roots dismiss their head coach and an assistant coach, their second change at the top in as many seasons. Their defense has allowed the most goals in USLC, at 23 from 13 matches played, and Birmingham can be expected to get some goals. This will be Legion's third regular season game against a Western opponent, and fourth overall (Jager), and they've won all three of those previous games. That's noteworthy, as they also outperformed against the West in 2024. Look for Legion to get three more points from a chippy game.
Huntsville City FC
HCFC will be at home against Crown Legacy on Friday, June 20 at 7:00. Huntsville got a much-needed win last week over Atlanta United 2, and they'll be looking to keep things going against a mid-table team that managed a draw against Huntsville in their first meeting (HCFC won the shootout). As a theme, the match will be honoring first responders. Huntsville should be expected to get the win.

Dothan United will be on the road against Asheville City SC Sat, June 21 at 7:30. The Dragons seem to get stronger every week, and this promises to be a great game. Both teams are tied at the top of the table on points, but Asheville has a game in hand. The winner of the match will have the inside track to the guaranteed playoff spot for the division. Dothan needs an outright win to move into first place, as the first tiebreaker for the playoffs is head-to-head results, and this will be the only time they face Asheville. The stakes couldn't be higher.
