WEEK AHEAD PREVIEW
Week of Sat Oct 12 through Fri Oct 18
Birmingham Legion vs Las Vegas Lights Sun Oct 13 at 5:00
This is a strange match-up when you dig in. Las Vegas is in third place in the West on 47 points, while Bham is eigth in the East on 42 points. Both teams have 12 wins, but Las Vegas has gotten their extra points from five more draws than Legion. The Lights only have a plus two goal differential, which makes sense given all of the draws. Birmingham has done better against teams from the West, but performed worse at home. This is Legion's last home game of the season, and success may come down to whether or not center back (and team captain) Kavita will be available. He's been shown practicing this week, so fingers crossed. If Legion loses this one, they're looking at missing the playoffs for the first time in team history.
FC Birmingham at Vinotinto Atlanta Sat Oct 12 at 3:30
Vinotinto is the number two team in the table, and is holding to their formula: score, and don't give up many goals. FCB is certainly capable of pulling an upset here, but it's definitely going to be a tough ask.
The Adjacency
Fountain City is in the same boat as FC Birmingham. They're on the road Sat Oct 12 at 4:00 against Georgia Revolution. The Revs are third in the table, tucked right up under Vinotinto. They score plenty of goals while giving up very few. Fountain City lost a close match last week to Vinotinto, so there's a chance they can steal some points here.
Columbus Elite FC plays at Georgia Impact Sat Oct 12 at 3:00. Both teams are even in the table and appear to be evenly matched. This should be a tight game that helps shape the table moving forward.

Columbus Knight Eagles are on the road against Limeno II Sat Oct 12 at 3:00. After taking a beating from Elite in their second game, the Eagles have been moving up near the top of the table. Limeno II is at the bottom of the table, and CKE should come away with all three points.
