Birmingham Legion at Oakland Roots Sat Oct 26 at 9:00
Oakland comes into this game safely into the playoffs, and it's just a matter of who they'll go on the road to face. Their run of form in the past five games hasn't been that great, except that they are coming off of a win against a heavily-rotated Las Vegas team (who thumped Bham 3-0 the game before that). Strangely, the official USLC standings do not list Legion as being eliminated from the playoffs. A win could potentially pile them in with as many as three other teams at 45 points. Unless there's something way more convoluted than I know, I don't see how Bham isn't already eliminated on tiebreakers. If the Legion players think they're still alive, maybe they'll be motivated enough for a last gasp win.
FCB at Albion Atlanta Sat Oct 26 at 6:00
These two teams are next to each other in the table, both on 7 points. They've both had porous defenses, but the clear advantage for Albion is that they're much better at home. Two wins and a draw out of four home games. FCB will be looking to steal a result and move up the table.
FCB2 at Club the Strongest Sat Oct 26 at 3:30. This is a match-up of two teams looking for positive momentum. The Strongest give up a lot of goals, so FCB2 has a chance to grab three points here.
The Adjacency
Fountain City are on the road to face FC Atlanta Sat Oct 26 at 2:00. Atlanta has no wins from 8 games, but has a handful of draws. This will most likely be a close contest, but one that Fountain should win.
FC Columbus Elite travel to Atlanta Ignite Sun Oct 27 at 3:30. This is a huge match in the division. Ignite is in second place, and Elite is in fifth. Both teams score, and have tight defenses. Elite can make a statement with a win.
Columbus Knight Eagles are on the road at Georgia Impact Sat Oct 26 at 2:00. Impact is one of those strange teams that is undefeated on the road, and hasn't won a game at home. CKE seems to have hit their stride, and are undefeated in the last four games.
News and tidbits
