2025 Open Cup update

For the 2025 edition of the US Open Cup, only one team from Lower Alabama coverage is participating. Columbus United will see their first action in the first round proper of the Cup in Spring of 2025, by virtue of their appearance in the NPSL national semi-finals.
Meanwhile, qualifying play has begun, where a record 114 clubs are chasing just 14 spots in the Open Cup. This past weekend, 64 teams faced off to get things started. Among those teams was Dalton United. Dalton plays in the UPSL Premier, in the same division with Fountain City and FC Birmingham. Dalton defeated the Pre College Development Academy (Murfreesboro, TN) 3-0 to move forward to the next round, playing in two weeks. Best of luck to Dalton, and congrats on the win!
