Moving to USL League Two

As of Feb 1st it looked like Columbus United would be sticking with NPSL for Summer 2025. That was a bit of a shock, as they had given up the Open Cup spot that they had earned, and a move was widely expected. But, on the heels of fellow NPSL member Tallahassee moving out, it's been announced that Columbus United is indeed jumping ship and going to USL2. This is expected to put them in the conference with Lower Alabama teams Legion 2, Montgomery United, and Dothan United.

In other club news, Columbus recently announced that Jonathan Kanagwa has signed with Richmond Kickers, their first alumni to turn pro, after playing with Columbus during last season.

What's your view on the ultimate near- and far term fate of the NPSL? As I understand it, a few individuals have out-size influence on the NPSL due to owning multiple clubs in different markets, one of whom (Michael Hitchcock) has conspicuously defected to the USL ecosystem? Related, who owns Columbus United?
